Jewelry Websites Hear This: Facebook, Facebook, Facebook!

Image representing Facebook as depicted in Cru...Image via CrunchBaseA couple days ago I had hoped to convince all you jewelry website owners out there how important Facebook was for marketing your website through my post titled: Marketing Your Jewelry Website with Facebook.  If that was not enough to convince you...or if you are thinking "who is this girl who thinks she knows so much," take a look at the recent article on the site of one of the leading jewelry industry reports, National Jeweler.

Just yesterday they released an article titled, "Facebook Consolidates its Dominance as Use Rockets," where they announced:

"According to comScore’s newly released 2010 U.S. Digital Year in Review, the site's unique and daily visitors rose by 38 and 69 percent, respectively. Page views rocketed 71 percent, and overall time spent on the site increased 79 percent, making it the Web's leading site in that category."

Wow!! These sats are awesome!  So amazing that I had to tell you again....if you are not using Facebook to help market your jewelry website....GET TO IT!!!

Feel free to email with tips on how to make this happen :)

Marketing Your Jewelry Website with Facebook

Image representing Facebook as depicted in Cru...Image via CrunchBaseI am sure you have heard the buzz about marketing through Facebook, especially since the social media outlet hit 500 million users this past summer.  While Facebook is a way for friends, family, and even co-workers to stay connected, it has also become a great way for businesses, and yes jewelry websites, to gain exposure.

Check out this staggering statistic: 75% of all internet users are active on Facebook!

This means that when you drop a link to your site on Facebook, it is the best and fastest way to get the word out about your site!

Many business have bought ads in Facebook's side bar.  These are great because they are fairly inexpensive, but also because they are targeted at the people who would most likely be interested in your products.  Buying Facebook ads is the easiest way to get hits to your collection of luxury diamond jewelry or wedding rings, but there are many things you can do without dropping a dollar on ads.

Your jewelry website can have a Facebook page that announces sales, new item additions, contests and giveaways, new blog posts, and any other information that you want your potential clients to know...you just need to make it interesting so people will want to be connected to it!

So, create your site's Facebook page and get active on tone of the world's most popular websites!

The Diamond Ring: Tips for the Jewelry Business Welcomes You!

A scattering of "brilliant" cut diam...Image via WikipediaWelcome to The Diamond Ring, a blog for those struggling to keep their jewelry website profitable in today's ultra competitive e-commerce world.

I am a writer for several websites in the industry, focussing on creating quality content, maximizing SEO, and engaging in other internet marketing practices.  I have searched high and low for good information on internet marketing specific to the jewelry industry, and have found very little.  There are a few sites that I regularly visit and contribute to, but thought that I could bring them all together here, in an effort to create a single blog that specifically offers advice on running an effective jewelry website, along with any relevant industry news.  The first posts are coming soon, in the meantime, take a look at some of the insdustry sites I find the most useful:
